Pyrolysis is an analytical technique that thermally decomposes complex or polymeric materials—at temperatures up to 1000 °C—into smaller, identifiable fragments for GC/MS analysis.  

Purge and Trap is a highly sensitive sample preparation technique for the analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in environmental, industrial, and drinking water samples. By purging volatile analytes from a sample and concentrating them on a sorbent trap prior to GC or GC/MS analysis, the technique enables reliable detection at trace levels with excellent reproducibility and efficiency.
