Advanced Purge and Trap Technology for Stable VOC Results and Reduced Maintenance

Purge and trap is the preferred technique for extracting volatile organic compounds from water and soil samples before GC or GC-MS analysis. During analysis, VOCs are purged from the sample matrix using inert gas and concentrated onto an analytical trap for highly sensitive detection.

The EST EVOLUTION 2 improves this process through unique moisture management technology. Its patented 8-port valve separates the moisture control pathway from the desorption pathway, reducing dead volume and maintaining peak resolution. The Moisture Reduction Trap (MoRT) removes water during purging to protect the analytical trap and improve system stability. Patented Desorb Pressure Control prevents pressure pulses from the GC, resulting in improved chromatography and reduced stress on system components. In addition, the patented carryover heater minimizes sample-to-sample contamination, allowing laboratories to achieve higher throughput and more reliable VOC data.
