GERSTEL Twister SBSE System
Efficiently extracting trace organic compounds from aqueous samples is a challenge. The GERSTEL Twister® solves this with highly sensitive Stir Bar Sorptive Extraction (SBSE). SBSE is a solvent-free extraction technique, which is significantly faster than most conventional extraction techniques.
While stirring, the Twister absorbs and concentrates analytes into its sorbent coating, delivering up to 1000× higher sensitivity than SPME. Multiple samples can be processed at once, boosting throughput. Analytes are released by thermal or liquid desorption.

Automated Solution for Stir Bar Sorptive Extraction
The GERSTEL Twister® provides an efficient SBSE solution for highly sensitive sample introduction. Its large sorbent volume enables solventfree enrichment of analytes from liquid or gaseous samples, making it ideal for trace analysis. The reusable, glasscoated magnetic stir bar with an adsorbent layer is placed in the sample and stirred to extract target compounds. After enrichment, it is removed, dried, and placed in a thermal desorption tube for TDU 2 analysis, with optional conditioning in the TC 2.
