GERSTEL Solid Phase Micro Extraction
The GERSTEL Solid Phase Micro Extraction (SPME) option fully automates the microextraction process using the MultiPurposeSampler (MPS). Analytes can be enriched from liquid samples or headspace using minimal solvent.
All steps are executed automatically and efficiently through MAESTRO software. With low phase volume and short extraction times, the SPME option delivers fast, sensitive and reliable sample preparation.
Solid Phase Micro Extraction
The MPS uses a dedicated SPME tool equipped with a fiber holder instead of a syringe. The adsorbentcoated fiber enables efficient analyte uptake from the tray or the heated agitator during incubation. To protect the adsorbent, a guide needle first pierces the vial septum before the fiber is exposed. After enrichment, analytes are thermally desorbed in the inlet or the Thermal Desorption Unit TDU 2. The fiber is then conditioned in the inlet or fiber conditioner, ready for the next analysis.
