Markes Thermal Desorption Systems

Thermal desorption (TD) is a versatile preconcentration technique for GC analysis of VOCs and SVOCs in air, gas and materials. Modern sorbent technology and advanced TD instruments capture a wide analyte range for both target and untargeted analysis, while removing interferences. TD offers ppt level sensitivity, high throughput and easy automation.

Markes International is renowned for its robust, cryogen free TD systems with broad analyte coverage and excellent performance.

Thermal Desorption Instruments

Thermal desorption overcomes the limits of traditional sample preparation by offering higher sensitivity, compatibility with more compound classes and sample types, safer and greener operation without solvents, and easy automation and validation while meeting key standard methods.
The majority of TD applications use sorbent tubes and a two-stage desorption process to focus the analytes into a narrow band of gas, and so achieve the maximum sensitivity enhancement.

The thermal desorption (TD) instruments of Markes International include:

  • a Single-tube thermal desorption unit UNITY-xr™
  • a Multi-tube thermal desorber UNITY–ULTRA-xr ,
  • a Cryogen-free, automated canister and whole air preconcentration system UNITY–CIA Advantage-xr
  • a Cryogen-free automated thermal desorption system for on-line air monitoring UNITY–Air Server-xr.
