Determination of Benzene and Aromatic Content in Oxygenated Gasoline
To meet the fuel regulations it is essential to determine the Benzene and the Aromatic content in gasoline. Several methods such as ASTM D3606 and D5580 are available. To address the oxygenate interference when analyzing Benzene and aromatics in oxygenated gasoline the ASTM D5769 method was developed. The DVLS Aromatics Analyzer is based upon the Agilent 8890 Gas Chromatograph (GC) with built-in intelligence and electronic pneumatic control (EPC).
The Agilent 8890 GC is configured with:
- an Agilent 5977B Mass spectrometer detector with turbo pump
- an Agilent Automatic Liquid Sampler with a 16-position tray
- a non-polar column
- a Split/splitless inlet
- Hydrogen carrier gas (optional)
