Micro GCs Make Fluxys’ Gas Network Future-Ready
The Metering Lab at Fluxys Belgium has validated and installed more than 100 new Agilent 990 micro-GCs at measuring stations along the 4,000 km pipeline network. Every five minutes, these systems measure the gas composition with extreme precision according to ISO 6976, which determines the calorific value of natural gas. To validate the Micro GCs, Fluxys uses three Agilent 8890 GCs - also supplied by Da Vinci Laboratory Solutions - which have been optimized for maximum repeatability and linearity.
Read in the latest edition of LabVision how Fluxys uses Da Vinci’s Micro GC systems to monitor the gas composition of its 4,000 km pipeline network.
Hydrogen Analysis
To be prepared for the future, where a percentage of hydrogen will be injected into the natural gas, Fluxys has invested in micro-GCs with an additional module for hydrogen analysis. This means that the instruments are not only ready for natural gas analysis, but also for future hydrogen addition into the network.
