For over more than a decade there is interest in Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). PFAS are known as the forever chemicals, meaning that until now most components resist degradation. Due to the chemical property PFAS components are widely used in all kind of products such as fire extinguishers, coating materials (pans, clothing,) construction materials and cosmetics. But as they are persistent to the environment this will result in a contamination of groundwater, surface water and soil.
